The Last Day Of The Holidays OOTD

Hi guys!

It's the last day of the holidays for me ( I go back to work on Monday) so I thought I'd do a post to kind of cheer me up a little bit lol.

I managed to get a few pics in before the torrential rain started thanks to my Mum. As soon as I felt the first few droplets of rain I realised that I had completely chosen the wrong things to wear. I mean who else would wear a coat with no hood, a thin white top (prone to going see-through when wet) and ripped jeans lol. So I did change swiftly as soon as I was done with these pics.

See below the pics for info :)

I'm wearing:

- Red oversized cocoon coat from River Island - £75 (now £40)
It really pisses me off  annoys me when I buy something full price and then it goes into the sale. But I guess I can't be that annoyed since I bought this around 3 months ago and have worn it quite a bit. Although it looks really thin, it's actually really warm and I don't have to wear too much underneath.

- White cami with black trim from Primark - £5???
I can't remember how much this was since I bought it all the way back in July for my holiday but I didn't end up wearing it. I like this since its a good quality basic top that I can throw into any outfit. The downside is that it's kinda see-through if you stare too hard lol.

- Ripped mid-wash jeans from American Eagle.
I got these jeans all the way back in 2007 while I was in holiday in Orlando and it's been a staple of my wardrobe ever since. When I first bought them the rips were actually quite small but I wanted it to be a bit more dramatic so I ripped them even more (there's a large one on my thigh that you can't see lol). Even those these can't be purchased here, you can take any pair and distress them yourselves, using anything from your fingers, to scissors and sandpaper.

- Timberland Nellie Chukka Double Waterproof Boot Wheat Nuback - £110
My new favourite thing so expect these to be in quite a few posts in the future! Lol

Thanks for reading!

Another Girl In Another Pair Of Timberlands OOTD

Hi guys!

Since I'm on my Christmas holidays, I actually have plenty of time to blog...so I thought I'd do an 'outfit of the day' since I haven't done one since April?! How bad is that?!

I've noticed that recently all my weekend outfits have been all black or close enough so this one follows tradition :)

Everything I'm wearing here (except for the vest top), I bought in the last two weeks and the Timberlands were a Christmas present. I know almost everyone has a pair, which effectively makes me a fashion sheep, but the heart wants what the heart wants and I'm extremely happy to have them. Also I should mention how comfortable they are! I wasn't expecting it at all but they really feel like I'm wearing Air Max's.

I've written down everything I'm wearing below the pics.

1) Black square quilted faux fur collar jacket from River Island - £45
This was love at first sight. Although it's described as a jacket, I would definitely say it's more of a cardigan as it's quite thin. However, if you wear a cardigan or thick jumper inside it's definitely ok for this mild weather.

2) Black vest from Topshop
I've had this for about 5 years and the fact that I'm still able to wear it says a lot about the quality I guess. I definitely recommend their basic wear.

3) Black high waisted leggings from River Island - £20
I can't find a link for them on the website but I got them from the Oxford St store if you're interested. I love that these are so comfortable yet still add a little something extra to an outfit. I'd say to get them a size smaller because I got these in my size and they won't stop falling down lol.

I'm in love with these so far, and what I love even more is that they're waterproof (since I'm always the stupid girl who wears expensive footwear on rainy days lol). It's like these were made for me!

Hope you enjoyed this post. Feel free to leave any comments below! :)

"Hey Mama" OOTD

Hey guys!

Two posts in one day, I'm on a roll!

So this is what I wore today for Mother's Day...it's a look I've never really done before but I think I might try it out more often since I got such a good reaction to it :) How can I describe it? I think it's quite preppy, but then of course I had to trash it out with a bold lip and gold hoops lol.

I'm wearing:

- My sister's Oxford St. Johns College sweatshirt
- White shirt from River Island
- Jeans from River Island
- Cut out wedges from ASOS

I hope you like!!! :)

The Day Beyonce Ruined My Life OOTD

So it started off as a really bad day for me...like millions of others, for three days straight I've been trying and failing to get Beyonce tickets. Today was my final chance and I still had no luck, which means that throughout late April/early May I will be dead to the world because I know all the pictures and videos of Beyonce swishing her flawless weave will make my heart bleed.

So what do I always do to cheer myself up? Well apart from eating cheesecake the answer is always shopping. So I dragged myself out of bed to go to Brent Cross with my mum and this is what I wore...

I know, I know...I'm wearing all black again but right now I think it's just the easiest thing to do. Since I couldn't exactly wear the sweatshirt with a pair of tracksuit bottoms, I gave it a little twist by mixing sporty and sexy together. Sometimes my favourite things to wear are the things that make no sense on paper, but make so much sense when you put them on.

I'm wearing:

- Primark Floral Patterned Tights

Hope you like and there'll be a post coming up tomorrow about the purchases I made :)

Getting My Malcolm On OOTD

Hey guys!

The outfit I wore today is so simple but I love it. Mostly because it's all black and there's almost something powerful about wearing all black,  harking back to the Black Panthers (and the fact that it's slimming also helps).  But knowing me, I couldn't resist adding a 90's touch to it by adding a gold chain and my brothers oversized Adidas jumper.

I also did my hair this week. I was inspired by Akilah's post on making a u-part wig so I did that with the same hair I had before, only I bleached and dyed my hair red and used a needle and thread instead of glue. I was so scared to dye my hair because I've never been another colour, although you could say I chickened out because I didn't do the whole head lol. It doesn't look as bright as it does in the pictures, I think my camera just picks up colour really well.

And oh yeah...the white specks in some of the pictures are snow!

I'm wearing:

- Adidas jumper (my brother's)
- ASOS polo neck dress
- River Island faux gold chain
- New Look black plimsolls

The Sweetest Taboo OOTD

Since my outfit post today is so eighties themed, I thought I would name it after one of my favourite eighties songs, 'The Sweetest Taboo' by Sade. I did kind of want to name it 'Sexual Healing' after the Marvin Gay song...but that wouldn't be very appropriate would it? lol

So here's what I wore:

Glasses: Rayban's from Eyewearbrands.com - £92
Necklace: Faux gold chain from River Island - £12
Jumper: Eighties style jumper from River Island (bought in the sale 3 years ago)
Trousers: Cropped black treggings from River Island (bought a year ago)
Trainers: Nike Air Max 1s from Nike Town - £92

You know what? I think I like my simplest outfits the best. I just threw this together this morning and it kind of all just came together as a theme. I hadn't worn this jumper since my second year at uni and only just rescued it from the bottom of my wardrobe last month, but I'm so glad I did. It's so relevant to the 80s/90s revival which has been happening over the past year. Next time I think I'll take it up another notch by making my make up more dramatic (bright pink lips) and adding more chunky gold jewellery.
