Shopping Itch.

Do any of you ever get that massive urge to go shopping? It's almost like an itch. You don't really need anything, yet at the same time you feel like life has no meaning until you go and spend some money? Well I've had that feeling for the past two weeks and today I succumbed and let my debit card loose on Brent Cross. I didn't go too overboard though. I started off with three lipsticks from MAC...

MAC lipsticks are £14 each.

'Honey Love' is a nude with pink undertones. It has a Matte finish.
'Rebel' is a deep purple with a Satin finish.
'Pink Plaid' is a light pink with a Matte finish.

I can't wait to try these out!

And I finished off with these two items from River Island. The jumper really caught my eye and I decided to buy it because I don't own much pink (which is probably hard to believe considering how girly I am). I've also been eyeing up the leggings for a while now. I've never really had any heavy duty leggings and these should keep me warm during the winter :)

Ombre Lips.

Hi guys!

This post really is just all about my latest obsession when it comes to applying my lipstick...and that is creating ombre lips! I love doing it with two different shades of purple and whether you love it or hate it, it definitely demands attention :)

I used Collection 2000 'Mudslide' on the outside of my lips, filled in the middle with CoverGirl Lip Perfection in 'Divine' and then blended by rubbing my lips together. However you can use purples from any other brand and long as you have a dark shade and a light shade. It's really so easy to do, just make sure that you line your lips with either a brown or purple lipliner to stop the lipstick from bleeding.

I also love using the same technique with pink lipstick. For that look I use MACs 'Girl About Town' with NYXs 'Fig'.

If you need any suggestions of shades or brands to use then drop a comment below and I'll get back to you ASAP :)

NYX. BLACK. FRIDAY.

If you're a lover of NYX Cosmetics like I am, then here's a little heads up...they'll be doing a UK 'Black Friday' sale (23/11/12), where they'll be giving 20% off all of their products. I'm already excited and ready to spend my entire evening filling my online shopping basket. Because they are an online brand, if you're curious to see the true shade of their products before you buy, visit YouTube. There's always a blogger who's already tried and tested a product, preventing you from making any questionable decisions lol

Here are a few of the products I'm thinking about buying (all prices mentioned are before discount is given):

Happy shopping!!! :)

"Tattoo your name across my heart..."

Yes the title is a Beyonce lyric. I just couldn't help my myself.

But anyway...I thought I'd make a quick post about my new tattoo. If you're on Instagram you'd have seen it already but since so many people have heard me nattering on about the idea for my new tattoo for the past year, I thought it's only fair that I share it on here too. :)

It's a heart shaped padlock which features a gypsy girl and a rose and it's meant to represent the fact that I wear my heart on my sleeve. Sometimes it's a positive and sometimes it's to my detriment. I'm one of those stereotypical soppy, emotional girls I'm ashamed to say lol. I've had quite a few people ask if the girl is black or white, but I would say neither. To me she's ambiguous. It's on the inside of my right arm and yes it hurt like a bitch. I've had two tattoos prior to this one, but this was the most painful by far. This was due to the fact that the skin on the inside arm is quite thin and sensitive since it doesn't get much exposure to the elements. These pictures were taken the same night I got it done (Thursday). At the moment it's in its healing process which means A LOT OF PEELING, so I can't really show it off at the moment :( lol

I got it done at Black Garden Tattoo by Cesar Mesquita (follow him on Instagram he's amazing!) and it cost £320. He's a really funny guy and he keeps you distracted throughout the whole process, which was around 2 and a half hours.

So that's my update done. If you have any questions leave them in the comment box below! :)

Essentials.

Hi everyone!

It's been a long time since you've heard from me but I'm back with a brand new blog, and I'll be updating you all regularly with what's going on in my life. Although it pretty much involves me living in Superdrug and River Island, I will try and make it look as fancy as possible lol.

The name of my blog is pretty strange, but I called it 'Lipstick For Dessert' because lipstick pretty much dominates my beauty regime and my entire life (slight exaggeration). Put a slice of chocolate cake or Ruby Woo in front of me and I can guarantee you that I'd choose the lipstick every time!

I know I should probably start this all off with a bang, but my first post is about some of the essentials I picked up yesterday. And when I say essentials, I mean those beauty items that you really need in order to look human but still resent spending money on.

So here goes!

I needed a new pair of straighteners because the Toni & Guy ones that I've had for around a year now stopped heating up effectively. I would do around half of my head and then I would no longer feel the heat, and it would take a couple of minutes just to get one piece of hair completely straight.

*Ain't nobody got time for that*

So I took my lazy self off to Argos and bought these Remington Sleek & Smooth Wide Straighteners. I bought them for a couple of reasons; the first being that they were on sale for £31.44, down from £36.99. The second reason for my purchase is that they are wide and this will hopefully speed up the time it takes to straighten my 20" weave lol.

I've also had quite a few problems with my weave frizzing up during the day, even after I've straightened it. So I decided to buy John Frieda Frizz Ease 3-day Straight (£6.99) for use straight after washing and the Frizz Ease Perfecting Cremé (£5.69) for use during the day when my hair gets unruly. However, Superdrug are currently doing a deal where you can get two John Frieda products (along with some others) for only £7.49. I'll let you know how I get along with these products in a new post in the next couple of weeks.

Next up...

I've actually never used the MUA Eyeshadow Primer before but I've heard really good things about it. And I really wanted to test it out before I spent massive amounts on the Urban Decay or Smashbox ones.

I also topped up on my GOSH Long Lasting Eyebrow Pen which had just run out. This is the best product I have ever used on my eyebrows. It's so easy to apply, dries very quickly, it lasts all day and most importantly of all...you don't need to sharpen it. I'm the queen of losing/breaking/jamming sharpeners so this really is a god send.

*Just to let you know that Superdrug is currently doing a 3 for 2 offer on ALL of their cosmetics. The third item I picked up was a clear lipgloss from 2true but I didn't really see a point of me blogging it.

The final item I purchased was a new pair of tweezers. Anyone who plucks their own eyebrows knows how important a sharp pair of tweezers are. If they're dull they may as well not be in your make-up bag. I know most people go to get their eyebrows threaded, but since that would mean me having to leave the house without my eyebrows done, I tend not to lol.

And that's all folks. Thanks for reading and let me know what you think!
